Primary science
Parts of a Plant Reading Comprehension
A reading comprehension resource that focuses on parts of a plant, providing information about the different parts of a plant and the role they play as well as activities linked to this to check understanding.
The fact file includes a brief introduction before focusing on the different parts of the plant and the role they have. This includes roots, the stem, leaves, flowers and fruit.
The resource includes:
A fact file about parts of a plant mentioned above (both in colour and black and white for ink saving purposes)
3 different comprehension activities of differing challenge - answers are included for these
A vocabulary activity that requires definitions to be found for each word provided.
Year 3 Plants - Parts of a Plant Lesson
A lesson aimed at the Year 3 Science unit of Plants. This lesson is the first lesson of a sequence, looking at the different parts of a plant. The lesson presentation includes being able to name the different parts of a plant as well as then discussing the different roles that each part plays.
This is then followed by an independent activity that requires children to label the parts of a plant before matching the parts to their different functions. This is then followed by a challenge question to provide the chance to reason. An answer sheet and support sheet are also included.
Year 3 Plants - Seed Dispersal Lesson
A lesson aimed at the Year 3 Science unit of Plants. This lesson is the fifth lesson of a sequence, looking at seed dispersal as well as germination. The lesson presentation includes a recap from a previous lesson (can easily be omitted if you want this lesson as a one off) before then looking at different examples of seed dispersal.
This is then followed by an independent activity that requires children to apply what has been discussed. This is then followed by a challenge question to provide the chance to reason. An answer sheet and support sheet are also included.
There is also a copy of the recap task included.

Year 3 Animals including Humans - Review/ Assessment Lesson
A lesson aimed at the Year 3 Science unit of Animals including Humans. This lesson is the sixth and final lesson of a sequence, focusing on reviewing the unit/ acting as an assessment of what children can remember and understand.
There are a number of different tasks that link to what has been taught over the unit, including true or false, labelling diagrams, and thinking about different importances of parts of the body. An answer sheet is also included and a presentation of the activity to discuss answers along each stage.
There is a second version of the review task also created for any group working at a slightly lower level with all the same factors and answer sheet included.

Scientific Information Text Writing - Earth and Space
A lesson/s that requires children to write an information text about the Sun, Moon or Earth. Included is a lesson presentation, an example text to show them what it looks like and some support sheets including a self-assessment grid and fact files. If you have iPads available or other technology they could then also use these to support fact finding.
A useful lesson at the end of a topic on Earth and Space to summarise the learning they have done.

Year 3 Plants - How Water is Transported Lesson
A lesson aimed at the Year 3 Science unit of Plants. This lesson is the third lesson of a sequence, looking at how water is transported through a plant. The lesson presentation includes a recap from a previous lesson (can easily be omitted if you want this lesson as a one off) before then looking at the important parts of a plant in transporting water and how this happens.
This is then followed by an independent activity that requires children to apply what has been discussed by labelling the parts involved and describing the process. This is then followed by a challenge question to provide the chance to reason. An answer sheet and support sheet are also included. This is then followed up with an experiment to end using white carnations and food colouring to show water transportation.
There is also a copy of the recap task included.

Year 6 Evolution and Inheritance (Planning, resources and slides)
Teach children all about Evolution and Inheritance with this block of differentiated lesson plans and resources.
These six lessons take children on a journey developing their understanding of Evolution and famous scientists work.
N.B. These lessons are planned for 1 and a half - 2 hour lessons so if you teach Science for one hour a week then you will get more than six lessons from them.

David Attenborough Reading Comprehension
A fact file about David Attenborough that is also a reading comprehension. This includes three differentiated worksheets with 10 questions each and answers included to test children's comprehension knowledge as well as learning about David Attenborough at the same time.
KS2 Science Investigation Mat
A word mat/ key aspects mat for KS2 children, particularly Year 5 and 6, to help them in writing up scientific investigations. Included are four key sections, getting children to think about what to include in their methodology/ what they're doing, the prediction, results and conclusion. Also included is a section about fair tests and a list of words that may be used and what they require of them e.g. list, compare, analyse.

The lesson presentation includes key vocabulary and discussion around why we eat, as well as looking the Eatwell plate and the different food groups within this.
This is then followed by an independent activity that requires children to label an Eatwell plate and consider foods for each group. This is then followed by a challenge question to provide the chance to reason. An answer sheet and support sheet are also included.
Alongside this is a second version of the lesson aimed at any groups who may be working at a lower level. The aim of the lesson is the same and there is a presentation, activity with answers and support sheet at a more appropriate level.

A lesson aimed at the Year 3 Science unit of Animals including Humans. This lesson is the fourth lesson of a sequence, looking at organs. The lesson presentation includes a recap task looking at prior learning from a previous lesson (can easily be discarded if you are using this as a stand alone lesson) key vocabulary and discussion around some of the different organs in the body and the role they play.
This is then followed by an independent activity working on applying the learning about organs and what they do. This is then followed by a challenge task to create a replica body with organs in the right place based on a provided image. An answer sheet and support sheet are also included, with an answer sheet also included for the recap task.
Alongside this is a second version of the lesson aimed at any groups who may be working at a lower level. The aim of the lesson is the same and there is a presentation, activity with answers and support sheet at a more appropriate level.

A lesson aimed at the Year 3 Science unit of Animals including Humans. This lesson is the third lesson of a sequence, looking at the human skeleton. The lesson presentation includes a recap task looking at prior learning from a previous lesson (can easily be discarded if you are using this as a stand alone lesson) key vocabulary and discussion around the different bones in the body and the role the skeleton plays. This is then followed up with some true and false questions linked to the information.
This is then followed by an independent activity working on identifying bones in the body, scientific names, the function of the skeleton and some true and false questions. This is then followed by a challenge task to show what else they know about bones. An answer sheet and support sheet are also included, with an answer sheet also included for the recap task.
